What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is known as physical therapy provided by therapists who are responsible to maintain, promote, or restoring health through physical examination, management, diagnosis, prognosis, physical intervention, patient education, disease prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation. The person who does the physical therapy is called a physiotherapist. Many other physical therapist practices include education, research, health administration, and consultation other than clinical practice.
Many specialities are included in Physical therapy professional careers like orthopaedics, neurology, Cardiovascular and pulmonary, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, s Oncology, sports medicine, endocrinology, women’s health, clinical areas of Intensive care unit, paediatrics, geriatrics, electromyography, Clinical electrophysiology, Clinical electrophysiology, and wound care.
Physical Therapists can continue their practice in areas like private-owned physical therapy clinics, health and wellness clinics, skilled nursing facilities, private homes, schools, fitness centres and sports training facilities, outpatient clinics or offices, rehabilitation hospital facilities, extended care facilities, and research centres. They can also work in non-patient care like health care administration, health care executives, and health insurance. Government Jobs for Physiotherapist lecturer Jobs
Experienced individuals can prefer to become a lecturer in the government sector. The job can be full-time or part-time. The aspirant Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized University. The contender should have two years of experience in Physiotherapy and two years of experience in Planning the Implementation of research projects in Rehabilitation from an institute recognized by the Central/ State Government or an autonomous body under the Central / State Government or a University recognized by the University Grant Commission or an Institute recognized by the Regulatory Council.
The duties of the lecturer are to evaluate and plan programs for disabled persons, clinically supervise the junior staff and students, and impart psychomotor skills to Under Graduate and Post Graduate students. Clinical schedules preparation, assistance to department head and management, undertaking Rehabilitation Physiotherapy activities, etc.
How to be a Physiotherapist?
A student who aims to be a physiotherapist should choose a science group in Intermediate with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. After competing for 10+2 the student can go for a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) or can go with a physiotherapy diploma course. For pursuing both courses, the aspirant should get qualify for the entrance examination. The graduation course duration is four years with six months of internship and the diploma is for three years. The course study includes exercise therapy, clinical training, allied therapies, physiotherapy orientation, sociology, etc are included along with the Physiotherapy subjects.
