Government Psychology Jobs: Psychology is the study of the mental state, emotional, cognitive, perceptual, and social processes and behaviour of a person. A professional who practices psychology is called a Psychologist. To be a psychologist, the individual gains a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and then followed by a master’s psychology degree or a doctorate in psychology.

All psychologists are not allowed to give prescribed medication. Based on the jurisdiction only a few licensed psychologists are granted to prescribe medications. Extensive training is received by psychologists in psychological testing, interpretation, scoring, and reporting. Psychologists are trained in psychotherapy to improve many mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and eating disorders.

Treatment obtained from psychologists can be in groups or as an individual. Cognitive behavioural therapy is well-studied, commonly used, and highly practised by psychologists. Usually, psychologists work with people from schools, sports teams, colleges, private clinics, prisons, and a workplace. Applied psychology solves problems in animal and human behaviour. Clinical psychology, school psychology, counselling psychology, health psychology, sport psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, and forensic psychology are applied fields that include.

Psychologists can be practised in two general categories. One is health service psychology includes “practitioners” or “professionals” and research-oriented psychology includes “scientists” or “scholars”. PsyD or PhD is the degree Psychologists typically have. The program PsyD primarily prepares the student for clinical practice as a practitioner. The fresher in the field can work as a junior at the experienced psychologist to know the subject and to improve themselves.
