The surveyor of land does their work in different settings such as mining operations, construction sites, private firms, and construction agencies. Infrastructure development, real estate, and construction are some of the areas where the surveyor jobs government does its work. Who is a Land Surveyor?

The professional who surveys land is known as Land Surveyor. Some traditional tools like tripods and advanced technologies LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), drone surveying, handheld tablets, 3D scanners, GNSS receivers, theodolites, retroreflectors, robotic total stations, and GPS (Global Positioning System) are used in surveying. Topographic surveying, hydrographic surveying, and cadastral surveying are surveying areas at different places. Elements like Geometry, regression, trigonometry, geodesy, metrology, physics, engineering, regression analysis, law, and programming languages are used for the surveyor’s work.

Study to be Government jobs for land surveyors:

The candidates who aim to become a surveyor should attain a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, surveying, or any other related field. The course study duration of B.Tech/B.E or M.Sc in Mathematics/ Science will be for four years that covers the subjects of mapping, surveying techniques, and land law. After the course completion, the surveyor has to attain a certification in surveyor-in-training (SIT). The certification can be obtained when attending the training program.

A surveyor perfectly determines the boundaries of a property with precise measurements. The data will be provided by them for construction projects, map-making, and engineering industries. Similarly, the surveyor is responsible for preventing legal disputes by updating the boundary lines and preparing empty sites for construction. The concept of surveying is also used in communications, transport, and defining the legal boundaries to the ownership of land and works as a main tool for the research purpose in many scientific disciplines.
